Dr Raoul Paolo D. Henson

Leading ophthalmologist and oculoplastic surgeon

Dr Raoul Paolo D. Henson, MD, is a leading ophthalmologist and oculoplastic surgeon known for his pioneering contributions to eye surgery in the Philippines.

He completed his residency at St Luke’s Medical Center and advanced training in oculoplastic surgery at the University of Hawaii’s St Francis Medical Center, under Dr Jorge Camara. He also trained in LASIK and refractive surgery in Monterrey, Mexico. Dr Henson performed the country’s first laser tear duct surgery in 2000 and introduced balloon dacryoplasty in 2005. A prolific lecturer and published author, Dr Henson holds consulting roles at Clinica Henson,
St Luke’s, and Makati Medical Center.

He is a fellow of the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology, a past vice president of the Asia-Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and recipient of the APAO Distinguished Service Award—an honour recognizing his dedication and leadership in the field.
