Dr J.S. Bamrah

Dr J.S. Bamrah CBE, FRCPsych, is a distinguished senior consultant psychiatrist based in Manchester, UK, with a career spanning several decades. He serves as an honorary reader at the University of Manchester and is the national chairman of the British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (BAPIO). Previously, he held the position of medical director at Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust.
In recognition of his significant contributions to mental health, diversity, and the NHS, Professor Bamrah was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2018 Queen’s Birthday Honours.
His academic work includes numerous publications and lectures on mental health and healthcare policy, both nationally and internationally.
