He is a world leader in the field of liver transplantation. He is also the professor of HPB and Liver Transplant Surgery, Institute of Liver Studies at Kings College Hospital, London. In a career spanning three decades, he has performed over 4,000 liver transplant surgeries around the world and has more than 600 publications to his credit. A team led by him performed a successful liver transplantation for a five-day-old girl, giving him an entry into the Guinness Book of Records in 2000.
